Tranexamic acid, lysine analogue, is an inhibitor of fibrinolysis and thus
used as a hemostaticagent for the treatment of severe hemorrhage. It is used as
a reagent for the study of plasminogen and internal amino acid-analysis
standard. It is a white crystalline powder; freely soluble in water and acetic acid;
melting point 300 C.
